Weekend Retreats............

Casting for Recovery, A national support and educational program for breast cancer survivors.  You're invited to apply for a healing retreat no matter your stage of treatment or recovery.  The retreat is a gentle introduction to catch-and release flyfishing for women who live in the Mid-Atlantic (VA, MD, DC, DE, WV) region. September 26-28 at Rising Phoenix Retreat Center, Flintstone, MD.  Come enjoy the comraderie of other survivors for a non-strenuous, fun-filled weekend!  Send your application July 18th for the September retreat.  Space is limited.  These weekend retreats incorporated fly-fishing to promote physcial and emotional healing and are offered at No Cost to the participants.  For more information about the program, to apply for a retreat or to make a donation, please contact Casting for Recovery, 888-553-3500 or info@castingforrecovery.org Casting for Recovery is a non-profit organization.  Website www.castingforrecovery.org.        

 

Thursday, July 3rd-   U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY BAND PERFORMS IN
                                                   TOWN OF CHESTER, MD
                                           

The United States Naval Academy Band will present a special Independence Day Concert on Thursday, July 3rd at 8:30 p.m. at the Chesapeake Exploration Center in Chester, MD.  The ceremonial band, led by Ensign Scott Mythen, will perform patriotic favorites.  Don’t miss this exciting evening of music and fireworks!  Naval Academy Band concerts are free and open to the public with no tickets required.  For more information, please call (410) 293-0263.

Friday, July 4th - Easton Carnival & 4th of July Celebration...

Don't miss the annual Easton Carnival and 4th of July Celebration taking place at a New Location this year!  Come join the excitement and festivites taking place July 1st-5th, Shaw's Carnival Rides with fifteen super rides for fun-lovrs of all ages, on the north side of Marlboro Road (extended), beside the New Target store in Waterside Village, (the corner of St. Michaels road, Rt. 33 and the Easton By-Pass, Rt. 322)  On the July 4th local vendors, Food, Fun, Music and the scrools to sign and an EVFD raffle.  Fireworks at dusk.

Join the Naval Academy Band’s “Electric Brigade” on Friday, July 4th, at 8:00 p.m. for a special Independence Day concert at the Annapolis City Dock.  Originally founded in 1972, the Navy’s premier contemporary entertainment ensemble has been thrilling audiences across the country as the United States Naval Academy’s musical ambassadors.  Fireworks will follow the concert.  Naval Academy Band concerts are free and open to the public with no tickets required.  For more information, please call (410) 293-0263.
 

Friday, July 4th -  Old-Fashion Celebration

Artworks joins in Chestertown's downtown-wide old-fashioned celebration on the Fourth of July with an Artists' Reception from 5pm-8pm on Friday, July 4th.  Unveiling its new show in the gallery, 306 Park Row, the community craft and art center features "Art and its Inspiration" as the theme of the popular annual show members' work.  For more information call 410-778-6300 or www.artworkschestertown.org.    

Saturday, July 5th - St. Michaels Fireworks...

Come to the St. Michaels Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks at the Miles River  Yacht Club on Saturday, July 5th.  Gates open at 4pm and Fireworks at dusk.  Admission $5 for 12yrs and older.  Enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas, bar beverages, music, children's activities and more.  No coolers or alcohol please. 

Saturday, July 5th -  BBQ Chicken Dinner

The Crumpton Volunteer Fire Department on the corner of Rt. 544 and Rt. 290 in Crumpton will sponsor a BBQ Chicken Dinner on Saturday, July 5th 11am until Gone!  $7 includes: 1/2 a chicken, baked beans, applesauce and a roll.

The Easton Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a Chicken BBQ at Koons Toyota, Ocean Gateway in Easton from 10am-until.  

July 7th-11th -  Vacation Bible School

Bethlehem Wesleyan Church in Preston will hold Bible School July 7th-11th from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  All are welcome, ages 4yrs to finishing 6th graders.  No Charge!  This years theme "Power Lab Theme"  For more information call 410-673-2546. 

Tuesday, July 8th - Summer Serenade at the Annapolis City Dock
                                                 “Next Wave” Jazz Ensemble

Join the Naval Academy Band for an evening of big band music presented by the “Next Wave” Jazz Ensemble on Tuesday, July 8th at 7:30 p.m. at the Annapolis City Dock.  Featuring the vocals of Musician First Class Jessica Hatfield, the program will include favorites from classic swing to contemporary big band sounds.  Naval Academy Band concerts are free and open to the public with no tickets required.  For more information, please call (410) 293-0263.


Sunday, July 13th -  "All You Can Eat Country Style Breakfast"

The Crumpton Volunteer Fire Department (3rd and Pine St.) will sponsor an All You Can Eat Country Style Breakfast on Sunday, July 13th, 8a-11am Menu: Scrambled eggs, Sausage, Scrapple, Bacon, Home made biscuits, Chipped beef gravy, Home fried potatoes, Fluffy Pancakes, French toast, Fruit, Juices and Coffee.  Adults: $6, Children 6yrs-12yrs $3 and Children 5yrs and under are FREE.

August 4th - 8th - Vacation Bible School

Register today for any of these Vacation Bible School Programs, which will be offered August 4th-8th at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Denton. VBS runs from 6pm-8:30pm.  Dinner is available before VBS from 5:15pm-6pm for $1.50 per person.  All meals are kid friendly and peanut butter and jelly is offered as an alternative each night.  VBS registration is $1 per person.  Forms are available from Sunday School teachers, in the church Voice Newsletter, at the church office and on the table by the Sanctuary.

Saturday, August 9th - Crab Feast....

Celebrate with us at The Easton Club Pavilion on Saturday, August 9th from 5:30pm-9:30pm for an All You Can Eat, mouth watering Crab Feast.  If you love Maryland Crabs and helping a great cause, then you won't want to miss this event!  All proceeds will benefit Channel Marker, Inc.  Menu:  Steamed Crabs, Fried Chicken, Pulled Pork BBQ, Corn on the Cob, Potato Salad, Watermelon, Cookies and Brownins, Drat Beer and Iced Tea.  There will be a reat selection of items for auction and raffle.  Music will be provided by DJ Ground Hog (Erik Higgins.  Advnce Tickets are $50 per person, $55 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased via PayPal at www.chanelmarker.org. or can be purchased at 8626 Brooks Drive, Suite 304 in Easton or call 410-822-4619.
